Chris Miller Appointed to Mecklenburg Co. CLE Committee

Miller Cushing Holladay partner Chris Miller was appointed by the Mecklenburg County Bar to serve on the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee through June 2017. As a Mecklenburg County Bar CLE Committee member, Chris will assist in the planning and presentation of continuing education courses that are offered locally by the Mecklenburg County Bar. Participation in at least 12 hours of CLE courses annually is mandated by the North Carolina State Bar for all persons holding a license to practice law. The North Carolina State Bar, local county bars, and other private entities offer CLE courses for attorneys in virtually every area of law. For Mecklenburg County, CLE courses are the second largest source of revenue after annual dues for membership for the Mecklenburg County Bar to fund operations.

“It is an honor to be appointed to the CLE Committee and I look forward to helping bring new and different ideas for courses and ways to market them to attorneys in Mecklenburg County”, said Chris Miller.

The Mecklenburg County Bar plans to open a brand new facility in October 2014. Chris Miller stated, “We are very excited to open the building, which will centralize our ability to host CLE courses and offers a wide range of seating for smaller, niche courses all the way up to a large auditorium. There are some great ideas and planning happening now for courses the Bar should really enjoy that coincide with the opening later this Fall.”
